And they tasted as they are suppose to. This is Norwegian Christmas cookies – similar to ginger cookies, just better!
I am proud. Look at the result. NAM!
First of all, we thought we would find syrup in Almaty, but we didn’t. Not the right one. And that’s one of the main ingredient in «pepperkaker».
Second, we did not have any rolling pin to make the doe.
Third, we did not have any figures to shape the cookies. And we do not have a proper kitchen in the dorm or any baking sheets.
But we managed!
Home made syrup + an empty wine of bottle + a circled shape plastic figure + Danielle and Lara’s kitchen did it!
And some imported m&m’s.
This is the Maria shaping the cookies with the plastic figure.
Flattening the doe with the wine bottle…
And with an Austrian participant on the team, we were a lot of happiness!
Maria (the other Norwegian at KIMEP) and Cornelia (my neighbor in the dorm) where in the right baking mood, which we topped with Christmas songs.
The reason for making «pepperkaker» is the International day at KIMEP tomorrow, where me and Maria is presenting Norway.
So this is how we promote Norway in Kazakhstan. And after our delicious cookies they will love our country.
This can’t be other that a success recipe!
